Galco Gun Belts

Galco is probably one of the most popular and most recognized gun holster companies in the world.  They really are somewhat unusual for a production leather company.  I say that because they are one of the only production leather manufacturers on the market that produces a contoured gun belt, and also produces horsehide gun belts.

They are also one of the most expensive production leather companies to deal with.  In some cases, their retail pricing exceeds the pricing of a custom made gun belt either contoured or in horsehide. Don't get me wrong, they make very nice gun belts.  I'm just not completely convinced that they are worth the asking price in comparison to comparable belts on the market.

Galco offers a number of different gun belt models in various widths and materials.  They actually make around 10 different belt models for each width (1 1/4", 1 1/2", 1 3/4"). In addition to cowhide and horsehide, they also offer a line of ballistic nylon gun belts (although I still firmly believe that the Wilderness Instructor's Belt is a superior belt and better buy).

As you can see from the pictures above, Galco makes really nice stuff; it's just a little too rich for my taste and my wallet. If you are interested in a Galco gun belt, check around online as online Galco dealers tend to offer a much better price versus buying from Galco direct.
